Ekonomi yönetimi, seri karar almayı sağlayacak şekilde sadeleştirilirken, yeni modelde ekonomi; üretim, finans ve ticaret alanları üzerine kuruldu. Düzenlemelere ilişkin Cumhurbaşkanlığı kararnameleri; Resmi Gazete’de yayımlanarak yürürlüğe girdi.

Ekonomi alanında 6 olan ilgili bakanlık sayısı 3’e indirildi. Bu kapsamda, 16 yılda 3 kattan fazla artan milli geliri vizyon projeler, ekonomik canlılık, istihdam, bilgi ve toplumsal fayda üreterek yeniden katlama hedefiyle oluşturulan sistemde ekonomi yönetimi sadeleştirildi.

Başbakan Yardımcılığına bağlı Hazine Müsteşarlığı yeni yapılanmada Maliye Bakanlığı ile bir arada olacak. Maliye Bakanlığının adı da “Hazine ve Maliye Bakanlığı” olarak değiştirildi.

İhracatın 500 milyar dolara yükseltilmesi ve İstanbul’un dünyanın finans merkezi olması hedefiyle Gümrük ve Ticaret Bakanlığı ile Ekonomi Bakanlığı da “Ticaret Bakanlığı” adı altında birleştirildi.
