19.Yüzyılda Jan Baptista Say ise girişimciliği şöyle tanımlamıştı; kaynakları verimsiz alanlardan alıp verimli alanlara taşıyarak kazanç elde eden kişilerdi. Girişimcilik kavramı 18.Yüzyıl itibari ile literatüre girmiş ve daha çok ticaret boyutunda düşünülmüş olsa da düşünce ve eylem biçimi olarak girişimci düşüncenin insanlık tarihi kadar eski olduğuna inanıyorum. Bu inancım doğrultusunda girişimciliği ‘Başkaları için değer yaratmak ve dünyayı değiştirmek olarak tanımlıyorum. Girişimci olmak kişinin gidip şirket kurması değil, girişimci davranış göstererek hayatını kendi kontrolü altına almasıdır.
